Drawing from her background in social impact, Amma Gyampo shares the story of Mary and Sarah, two women in Accra who based on different decisions are living completely different lives. In her talk, Amma shares how International Development is ripe for disruption with a focus on indigenous knowledge from indigenous people. With a gender funding gap currently at $42 Billion, Social Investment Partners and Development Agencies need to rethink their approaches in Africa in order to close this gap and achieve the SDGs. Amma Gyampo is an Entrepreneur and Strategic Advisor to Corporations, Investors and Ventures on topics including Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Impact Investment, Tourism and African Diaspora Business Engagement. a Co-Founder and CEO of ScaleUp Africa, a B2B, women-led, Africa based Entrepreneurship Business Development Services and Capacity Building initiative, serving Corporate, Government and Foundation Leaders that are looking to try new, sustainable models to address the challenges of youth and women's economic empowerment. Amma is also a Founding Member of Lady Angel Network (LAN) and Impact Investing Gh (II-Gh), Ghana's National Advisory Taskforce on Impact. With a background in Law and Strategic Programme Management in the Public and Telecoms Sectors, Amma's innovative ideas and approach to Development stems from her portfolio advisory career, spanning over 16 years, managing global projects for clients including BlackBerry and Vodafone.
