It should come to no surprise that I wanted more Kapla planks for Christmas. Even though I’m almost 20 now. That’s just what happens when you never grow out of that building/stacking/Lego phase in childhood. Anyways, to celebrate Christmas this year I built several “mini” Christmas-themed chain reactions. Dare I say mini, because some of these builds took over 3000 blocks. Well over 50 man hours was put into this 90 second montage and I’m really happy with the result. Shoutout to my brother for his design for the Christmas tree, he doesn’t build very often but when he does it’s a spectacle to see. The train, presents and carpet complement a great build. It was so good I had to cut out my Christmas tree from the video, which looked more like a mountain. The candy cane was also his idea. We had to cheat with rubber bands to get the blocks to stay like they did but it was cool nonetheless. The avalanche was a very high risk, very high reward contraption that unfortunately didn’t work. The dominoes got stuck on the third snowball because of the sloppy construction brought on by building in ultra-tight spaces. The mechanism isn’t too reliable either. Still a great idea that I’ll certainly expand and improve upon in a future build. The door worked exactly as I wanted it too. Have the wreath fall on the door’s trigger, collapsing it and revealing the presents in the back. The smaller contraptions at the beginning also turned out nicely. Overall I’d call this series of builds a success. The wait is over, I’m officially back to making videos after a difficult but successful 3rd semester of college. I even managed to get straight A’s. Kapla is my favorite hobby but school must come first. If you enjoyed this video please like and subscribe for more content like this. BUILD FACTS 2 builders 10000+ planks 7 days of work |
