Saxenda contains the active ingredient liraglutide. Liraglutide works by interacting with receptors in the brain that deal with appetite; helping you feel fuller for longer. It comes as an injection that you use yourself, and in-between uses you’ll need to store it in the fridge. Your clinician will make sure you know how to use it before prescribing it to you and show you if you’re not sure.
