What Nissan has done with the new 2023 Nissan Qashqai is amazing. The 2023 Nissan Qashqai has some major changes based on a redesign in 2022, and they are all pretty awesome. The car, expected to be released sometime later this year, has been greatly improved across the board regarding its performance, specs, safety, and design. But for all these upgrades, the buyers will feel the pinch.
The car is expected to hit the showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2022. It will be a strong competitor to the Mazda CX-30, the Kia Seltos, which is about to get an update, the recently released Honda HR-V, and the Toyota Corolla Cross, which is coming soon.
The 2023 Nissan Qashqai has been given a new 1.3-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine. It has enough power to produce about 110kW of power, which is about 5500 rpm, and 250Nm of torque. This is an increase of 4kW and 50Nm when you compare it with the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that powers the older models. However, don’t expect to go off-road with this SUV because the engine only drives the front wheels through an X-Tronic CVT. All the variations of the Nissan Qashqai will come with a standard start/stop and three driving modes that will mess around with the throttle response. These modes are Sport, Normal, and Eco. In addition, the towing capacity is also said to have increased by about 300kg, giving it a total towing capacity of 1500kg.
In addition to all this, the new Qashqai will be the first-ever Nissan to offer an e-Power series hybrid. Underneath the hood of this hybrid is a 116kW 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. The e-Power hybrid stands out because the petrol engine will act as a generator to recharge the battery pack. Whenever necessary, it will deliver the energy directly to the electric motor through an inverter.
Since the electric motor is responsible for driving the front wheels, the Qashqai e-Power can be driven in one-pedal mode. In this mode, the car can brake gently as long as the driver has stepped off the accelerator. It makes sure to turn on the brake lights and bring the car to a slower speed, but not a complete stop. So, this car has a total system output of 140kW and 330Nm of torque.
Even with all the upgrades to the engine of the 2023 Nissan Qashqai, giving it more power and torque, the turbo engine is quite fuel efficient.
The subcompact SUV has been fitted with some pretty neat chrome finishing at the front and rear, making it stand out from its competitors. Not only that, but even the dark grey and black finishing at the bottom of the body all over the car is a nice touch, making it look more aggressive. The 19-inch wheels are also a nice touch, with a design that attracts many. There are some little vents at the front bumper, and even though they are not really vents but just some spaces, they definitely add to the style of the car. Last but not least, the word Qashqai is printed at the rear in chrome, just to ensure that the driver behind you knows what you are driving.
Just like the exterior of the 2023 Nissan Qashqai, the interior has also been changed a bit, and it now looks slightly enlarged. However, the vehicle remains smaller than the Rogue and is still larger than the Kicks.
Nissan has also promised that the 2023 Nissan Qashqai will be equipped with the latest technologies. This will include ProPILOT Assist and Nissan Intelligent Mobility.
The new 2023 Nissan Qashqai is bound to be a big change for Nissan, attracting all the people who prefer subcompact SUVs.
