Elon Musk has promised "significant" improvements at Twitter after buying a 9.2% stake in the company. The news stoked speculation of his intentions as the company's biggest shareholder that varied from a full takeover of the platform to taking an active position. "I'm excited to share that we're appointing @elonmusk to our board," Twitter boss Parag Agrawal said in a tweet. "He's both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term." In response, Mr Musk tweeted: "Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months." He did not provide any details of his plans for the company, which is struggling to boost active users on its platform, even as it pursues new projects to end long-running stagnation. The billionaire businessman, who calls himself a free-speech absolutist, has been critical of the social media platform and its policies, and recently ran a Twitter poll asking users if they believed the platform adheres to the principle of free speech. Toby Young, General Secretary of the Free Speech Union, says this is a positive move: "Twitter has become the woke enforcement wing of the democratic party." #TalkTV #talkRADIO #elonmusk #twitter #JuliaHartleyBrewer Facebook ► https://www.facebook.com/talkRADIOUK TikTok ► https://www.tiktok.com/@talkradio_tv Instagram ► https://www.instagram.com/talkradiouk Piers Morgan Uncensored ► https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCatt7TBjfBkiJWx8khav_Gg |
