Poetry 2.0 -- verses for a tech age | Ayodele Heath | TEDxPeachtreeSalon |
|
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Ayodele Heath shows us how we can all be poets through a new medium that melds the rules of Exquisite Corpse, an old French parlor game, and the global reach of social media to create digital poetry and a new form of collaborative authorship.
M. Ayodele Heath is a poetry ambassador who believes there is a poet living in everyone of us. He is editor of the anthology, Electronic Corpse: Poems from a Digital Salon and is the recipient of fellowships to Caversham Centre for Artists and Cave Canem. A top individual 10-finisher at the National Poetry Slam, he holds a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from New England College and was a McEver Visiting Chair in Writing at Georgia Tech. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations) |
