Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday said that Canada was not trying to “provoke” India by alleging a “potential link” between "agents of the Indian government" and the killing of Sikh terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijaar.
"The government of India needs to take this matter with the utmost seriousness. We are doing that, we are not looking to provoke or escalate," Trudeau was quoted as saying by Reuters.
