video thumbnail
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Close your eyes and imagine the community you want for yourself and your neighbors. Melody Moody, Executive Director at Bike Walk Mississippi, talks about building better communities, with bikes as a way to get there.

As executive director of Bike Walk Mississippi, Melody Moody works to promote bicycling and walking as a tool for improving community health, economic development, accessibility and quality of life. Moody was recognized by Bicycling Magazine in 2013 as one of 14 “Innovators Using Bikes to Change the World.” And, under her leadership, Bike Walk Mississippi received the coveted national “Advocacy Organization of the Year” award in 2013 from the Alliance for Biking and Walking.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
