Now let's carry on with the video. The Tesla Cybertruck was first unveiled in 2019 and it set the internet alight for good reason. We hadn’t seen anything like it before, it was unexpected – especially from the Tesla design school – and to fathom that this futuristic machine could actually be driving among us by the end of 2021 was unbelievable. Maybe a little too unbelievable, but Tesla fanatics couldn’t wait to secure a vehicle of their own and with a mere $100 USD deposit, even those who couldn’t afford the vehicle – that starts from $39,900 USD – couldn’t wait to pay and flex their Cybertruck invoice on Twitter. And to this day, Tesla is holding more than AU$130 million in fully refundable Tesla Cybertruck deposits. Mind-blowing amounts for a vehicle that has seen so many delays it’s now outclassed by other fully-electric pickups on the market from the likes of Rivian and Ford. Regardless, we have a new release date. The Tesla Cybertruck has seen a number of delayed launches, including; August 9, 2021: where theTesla Cybertruck production is delayed until 2022 according to Tesla’s website. Also, on January 2022: where Production delayed to early 2023. Also on January 2022: it was announced that all mentions of the 2022 production date on the Tesla website were removed. Then on April 8 2022: Elon Musk confirms Tesla Cybertruck will be released in 2023. Finally on May 18 2022: Tesla Cybertruck pre orders were removed from all markets outside North America, Mexico, and Canada. In the latest Tesla keynote session, founder and CEO Elon Musk confirmed the Tesla Cybertruck will be released in 2023. He opened the Cybertruck session in the only way he knows how, an awkward joke, stating “So uh, we’re going to smash the window again,” in reference to the 2019 failure where Tesla designed Franz von Holzhausen shattered the “bulletproof” glass live on stage and sent the TSLA share price down 6% in the process. The latest prototype of the stainless steel clad vehicle shows a complete absence of door handles. Why? We’re not really sure, as they seem to work pretty well on most cars, but maybe the same argument can be made for a round steering wheel. Here’s what Elon had to say at the event; “You can see some of the changes we made already, there are no door handles. Who needs handles? The car can tell that you’re there and knows that it needs to open.” “We’re going to have an incredible Cybertruck product for you next year, it’s going to blow your mind.” Please leave a like, comment, subscribe, turn the notification bell on and share!
