It's not our job to Save the World | Ella Winthers | TEDxYouth@CherryCreek |
|
Generation Z has done some incredible things. They have helped to make waves of change within the world, but with all of the wonderful change that they are making they are also experiencing crippling mental health issues. As a high school student Ella talks about these issues and how they stem from the unfair expectations that have been placed on them by the world. Ella Winthers is a sophomore at Wheat Ridge High School in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Often compared to Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, she has had a love of public speaking for as long as she can remember. Ella is a member of the WRHS marching band, Speech and Debate Team, Gifted and Talented Center, and is a team lead for the school’s STEM program where they build hydrogen-powered cars to race at the annual Shell Eco-Marathon. Ella has a passion for environmentalism, and mental health issues among Generation Z. Ella is a bundle of energy and is always doing something! She is so excited to share her ideas and have the chance to help others. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
