Released in January 1985 under Rough Trade Records, "How Soon Is Now" is a song written by guitarist Johnny Marr and singer Morrissey and performed by the English jangle pop rock band The Smiths, off their 1984 compilation album 'Hatful Of Hollow' and also included on the band's 1985 second studio album 'Meat Is Murder'.
Originally a B-side of the 1984 single "William It Was Really Nothing", "How Soon Is Now" was belatedly released as a single in the U.K. in 1985, it reached No.24 on the UK Singles Chart.
