Former U.S. vice president Joe Biden has put the speculation to rest and officially announced that he's joining the crowded Democratic presidential contest.
For more on this and other news around the world, let's turn to Hong Yoo.
So Yoo, how did Biden make his announcement and what is he offering the American people?
Well Connyoung, Biden announced his decision to run for president for a third time on Thursday by releasing a campaign video.
In the video, Biden rebuked the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that happened in August 2017 and criticized how President Trump handled it.
Biden said Trump had "assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it" by saying that there were some "very fine people on both sides".
Biden also framed the 2020 race as a "battle for the soul of this nation".
His campaign will focus on three major pillars: rebuilding the middle class that he refers to as the backbone of the country, demonstrating respected leadership on the world stage, and making democracy more inclusive.
As Biden is now 76 years old, this will likely be his final opportunity to seek presidency that he has eyed for more than a generation.
Biden became an instant front-runner among the other Democrats running with the backing of more than one U.S. senator.
Yet, it's unclear if he will be embraced by the liberal wing of the party with his bipartisan approach and he will also have to face questions about his past, including the recent controversy that he touched women in an overly familiar manner without their consent.
