video thumbnail
As a medical device designer, Mary Beth Privatera lives at the intersection of design and science. These two worlds, while both incredibly creative, fall on different ends of the spectrum in many areas: risk-taking, regulation, expectations, process speed, and many others. In her talk, Mary Beth Privatera discusses what these two industries can learn from each other as well as where they intersect.

Dr. Mary Beth Privitera, Mdesign., PhD, FIDSA is currently the Principal, HFE/Research for HS- Design, Inc.; Co-Chair & Faculty, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation Human Engineering Committee; and is an Associate Professor, Director, Medical Device Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
