How Unconventional Leadership Can Build a Better Tomorrow | Shaheen Mistri | TEDxMICAAhmedabad |
|
Imagine leaving top tier b-schools and organisations to teach full-time in a government school in India for 2 years - Shaheen Mistri, Founder & CEO of Teach for India, believes this is an unconventional yet great approach to leadership development. Teach for India’s 4000+ fellow network, couldn’t be wrong!
Sharing with us her meaning of what it means to be ‘unconventional’, Shaheen speaks of her sources of inspiration, starting from her grandmother to the lovely fellows and children at Teach for India. In her own life, she’s made a series of what one would call “unconventional” decisions and has been unbridled in her vision to reduce the gap of educational inequality in India. Shaheen Mistri is the CEO of Teach For India and serves as one of its founding board members. Teach For India directly impacts approximately 32,000 children across seven regions in India. Shaheen currently serves on the boards of Akanksha Foundation. Shaheen has been an Ashoka Fellow, a Global Leader for Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum, and an Asia Society 21 Leader. She is also the author of the book, Redrawing India and the Miss Muglee Children’s Books. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx |
