Mental Health and Addiction

video thumbnail
Mental health has been a rising concern in the last few decades. University students in particular are one of the highest risk groups to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder. This video explores the underlying challenges that university students face and how these factors can affect their mental well-being. Fictional stories of general anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, and OCD will be presented to give the viewer some insight into the day-to-day life of someone suffering from a mental disorder. Hopefully this will act to spread awareness around this issue and reduce stigma. It is important to note that we are not medical professionals. Please make sure to consult and refer to your physician for any questions regarding mental health.

This video was made by McMaster University students Mikayla Robinson, Elmira Noohpisheh, Ken Yu, and Rojina Sadeghi-Javid in collaboration with the Demystifying Medicine McMaster Program.
