We Need A Little Insanity: Jordan Zimmerman at TEDxUSF

video thumbnail
For our greatest success, we need to take daring risks and be willing to do things that may seem a bit "insane" to others. Advertising mogul Jordan Zimmerman shares his story of insanity and how it led to a life of remarkable feats.

Jordan Zimmerman is Founder and Chairman of Zimmerman Advertising, headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; the 14th largest ranked advertising agency in the country, with published billings of nearly $3 billion. In addition, he shares ownership in the Florida Panthers, NHL Hockey team. An active philanthropist, he and his wife established the Denise and Jordan Zimmerman Family Foundation, supporting USF by building the Zimmerman Advertising program in the School of Arts & Sciences. Jordan's work led to his appointment to serve on the USF Board of Trustees. Jordan was featured in South Florida CEO Magazine, where he was included on their list of the "One Hundred Most Powerful People in South Florida." His most recent honors include the prestigious Entrepreneur Hall of Fame Award from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Nova Southeastern University (2008), USF's Kappa Tau Alpha Hall of Fame Award (2008) and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award for the Corporate Innovator Category in Florida (2012).

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
