"In the USA, everything is fast-food...!" Grant Achatz, chef and jury member of the American selection of the Bocuse d'Or, fights against this "cliché" and wants to show the reality to change this perception.

The drive of the American team on the Bocuse d'Or is to win the competition, not just for them but for America to be recognized as one of the greatest culinary nations.

According to Tim Ryan, president of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, now is the time: "There has never been a greatter time to be in the food service industry than today. Now is the golden age for america's cuisine".

There is no doubt that America is able to mobilize its talents and ressources to master this challenge... Especially since the winner of the US selection will automatically be qualified for the final in Lyon. As to Grant Achatz, his ambition is clear: "As professional chefs it's our responsibility to show the way and prove that we can outperform the best culinary nations and shake up the podium".
