Preserving our culture | Eva Zhou | TEDxYouth@GrandviewHeights

video thumbnail
Our culture shapes who we are. In this age of globalization, it becomes more important than ever to acknowledge our origins. And it is up to us, the younger generation, to work together to embrace our heritage and keep our language alive. Eva is a 7th-grade student who loves performing arts, coding & robotics. She speaks Shanghainese and performs the Hu Opera, both of which face the risk of becoming extinct. Eva hopes that in sharing her story, she may inspire the youth to preserve their culture and perpetuate their traditions. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
