Breaking trauma bonds with a narcissist and why its so hard to leave a narcissistic relationship. Trauma bonds are created inside relationships with high highs and low lows. Toxic relationship signs consist of high highs and low lows. If you love a narcissist, you might feel like you can never leave them. It's not your fault. Trauma bonding is real. Psychological addictions are formed through periods of reprieve as well as intense highs, followed by deep lows.

Narcissists are in need of dominating and controlling nearly every aspect of a relationship. They initially use lovebombing and idealize others, which can cause a victim to become infatuated with the idea of feeling seen, as well as valued. Over time, narcissists lose interest and once they begin to perceive their targets as humans with flaws, they can become highly toxic.

It is not difficult to become someone who is hooked into a narcissistic relationship. As you navigate their change in mood, you become someone who is now walking on eggshells, seeking their validation, and wishing to also gain back those early moments of feeling loved by the narcissist.
