|
In this talk, Dr. Pate will discuss how he came to understand Race and Justice, as well seek Peace, throughout his life and teaching. "I am an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, and an Affiliated Associate Professor of the Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Faculty Affiliate of the Institute for Child and Well-Being at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
I received a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Detroit, a Masters of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. My research projects involve the use of qualitative research methods to examine the relationship of non-custodial fathers of children on welfare and their interaction with their children, the child support enforcement system, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences on the well-being of African American adult males. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx |
