So the main difference between Precor and Sole is their resistance mechanism
All elliptical trainers exercise the body by providing resistance and therefore working the muscles. The resistance mechanism is where they vary. Sole uses the new ECB mechanism that works using magnetism resistance. This can be seen on new models such as the Sole E95 elliptical. On the other hand, Precor uses the older ‘tension and brake’ mechanism found in most elliptical machines. The only downside to it is that the brake pads and tension cables wear out over time.
