100 Push Ups A Day For 30 Days |
|
After not doing any strength training for over a year, I summoned the motivation to try and whip myself back into shape. I figured what better way to start then where I first began, the 100 pushups a day for 30 day challenge.
Not only did I document how my body changed physically, I tracked my strength by testing it using the bench press and taking the 1 minute pushup challenge. In 30 days, I could believe how much strength I gained by just doing 100 pushups a day. Before starting the challenge I was able to bench press 225 pounds for 2 reps. On day 14 I was able to rep 225 pounds for 4 reps and on day 31 I was able to rep it for 7 reps! On day 7 was was only able to get 36 pushups in 60 seconds, but by day 25 I was able to get 50 pushups in 60 seconds, another considerable increase! When it came to my physical appearance, I gained .25" in the size of my arms, 1.25" in my chest and I lost .5" in my waist. My overall weight stayed the same though. In the beginning I started by doing my pushups in sets of 20, 10 and 5's. After 2 weeks I moved to 5 sets of 20, then 4 sets of 25. I then began trying to get more and more reps per set each day.
