True Place Equals Heritage | Robin Smith | TEDxDiamondBar |
|
For the last three years, Robin has been an environmental advocate before many local municipalities. As chair for the Diamond Bar – Pomona Valley Sierra Club Task Force, her focus is wildlife habitat preservation, connectivity, and restoration, for both unprotected remnants of public natural open space, while promoting residential California native landscaped gardens. She believes these two land uses are key to achieving truly sustainable communities. Her youth group is currently working on the “Diamond Bar Natural History Project” – mapping local, rare native flora/fauna submitted to the California Natural Diversity Database. Standing ground against excessive urbanization, her main goal is to restore and protect local natural resources, an endeavor called “distributed restoration.” For the last three years, Robin has been an environmental advocate before many local municipalities.
