So generally people think about Total Knee Replacement people think it will be very painful, and they cannot maintain their day to day activities for a prolonged period. But a properly done Total Knee Replacement can sustain with pain for atleast minimum of 1 week to 2 weeks and this will gradually come down with proper mediation ad physiotherapy. So they should be able to do their normal activities like walking, and staircase climbing and all in a moth provided they take proper rehabilitation that is physiotherapy that maintains their knee strength and flexibility. So a painful condition will be therefore very few days unlike here they have got arthritis which is a very painful condition. So this will be there for few days and immediately after the surgery we will put them on injections that reduces the pain and it will be put inside the body. The way the surgery has been done, that will take care of the painkillers with the pain. So gradually once the pain subsides we will put them on oral medications and that will reduce the pain overall and also we give cryotherapy, that is we put icepacks over the operated site which is much more helpful in reducing the pain.
