The issue of the gas engine fuel market’s development is still relevant for Russia as one of the world’s leaders in gas production. In recent years, the discussion on finding a possible vector of market development has continued. In particular, on April 18, 2018, the President challenged the Government to elaborate and implement a development program for the gas engine fuel market.

The gas engine fuel market’s development is a key element of the internal gas market’s competitiveness, as well as that of the economy as a whole, due to: a) diversifying products and markets for the gas industry; b) the breakthrough nature of technologies; c) the significant socio-economic impact of developing the gas engine fuel production and distribution segment, and d) the environmental contribution in improving the quality of life in Russia, particularly in larger cities. Properly selecting the direction of the gas engine fuel market’s development in Russia can help achieve the national objectives of development for the Russian Federation contained in the President of Russia’s Executive Order No. 204 dated May 7, 2018.
