2021 Live Review 6 | AP U.S. History | Period 7-A (1890 – 1929) |
![]() |
In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP US History, we will review late-19th-century imperialist expansion through the Roaring Twenties, explain image-based SAQs, and develop skills in complex arguments and sourcing for LEQs.
We'll examine and summarize the historical developments comprising the first half of Period 7, beginning with the causes and consequences of Imperial Expansion. We will explore the priorities and policies of the Progressive Era, as well as the origins of, involvement in, and consequences of World War I for the United States. We will then examine the social, cultural, economic, and technological tensions and transformations of the 1920s. This session’s exam component focus will be long essay question (LEQ) and short-answer question (SAQ). We will examine and explain the SAQ scoring rubric for image-based prompts and provide a tutorial in Argumentation and Complexity as they apply to the LEQ response. This session’s APUSH writing skill focus will provide students with strategies to develop sourcing in their LEQs, with an emphasis on adequate use and development of outside information.
