Good to see Spence get some game time. There was clearly an expectation on the boy’s behalf that he had come to Tottenham to play, after paying his dues at Nottingham Forest. It wasn't to be, and if we’re honest with ourselves, he probably lacked the maturity to grin and bear it.

Djed’s debut for Rennes, who lost 1-3 to Ligue 1 rivals Lille, went as well for the lad as could be expected, given he wasn’t exactly match-fit.

Defensively sound and attack-wise there was a threat, but these are early days. If he can get through this loan and draw praise, his next move won’t be a false start.
