Yes. High fiber foods can absolutely aggravate your SIBO symptoms and cause stomach gas and bloating. 🥦🍎
When foods are high in fiber, they are a source of nutrition to the gut bacteria, both good and bad. These bacteria then ferment these fibers and produce gasses that will aggravate SIBO symptoms. This is why you should consider avoiding high fermentable fibers called high FODMAPs during SIBO treatment and perhaps adapt a low FODMAP diet together with a low carb diet as well.
