Language helps us create the world around us. Hong Kong poet Nicholas Wong depicts the way in which poetry has the ability to embrace the inherent ambiguity of language and promote empathy within a society.

Nicholas Wong is a poet from Hong Kong writing in English. His poetry collection Crevasse (Kaya Press) won the Lambda Literary Award. He is the first non-American to take home the award in his category. Nicholas is also the Vice President of the newly revived PEN Hong Kong. He teaches in the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong.
