PHIL LAROCCO has more than thirty years experience in planning and financing social enterprises from the South Bronx to South India. These last few years he has concentrated on the creation of practical, hands-on training materials for entrepreneurs, financial professionals, development practitioners and policymakers in developing countries. LaRocco worked for 20 years in the Port Authority of NY & NJ. He left his position as its Director to work for the Rockefeller Foundation and later helped to launch E+Co (energy through enterprise).

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
