This is part one of a three part series on hip strengthening for cyclists and triathletes. Getting the muscles working initially is the goal, not necessarily producing astoundingly strong contractions.

This beginner exercise is great at getting you to feel how the muscle acts when it does fire. Once you get the feel for this exercise, you can move on to the next two videos in the series, but most people ought to start here.
