It's the fastest Tiguan ever! (Volkswagen Tiguan R 2022 review)

video thumbnail
Is this the Volkswagen Tiguan you’ve been waiting for? For years, we thought the Tiguan R would be a five-cylinder. Instead, the Cupra Formentor got a five-cylinder turbo overseas, while the Tiguan R uses the same engine as the new Mk 8 Golf R: a turbo four-cylinder making a very decent 235kW of power (315 hp). It has the same cool twin-clutch rear differential as the Golf R…but without drift mode. So, is the new Tiguan R the perfect fast family chariot or should you buy a Golf R wagon? Or spend more on an Audi SQ5 or BMW X3 M40i?

In today’s episode of Chasing Cars, deputy editor Nathan Ponchard conducts a full and independent first review of the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan R sports SUV.
