TED Fellow Logan Smalley introduces the TED-Ed educational initiative and explains its central mission and future goals. He also takes questions from the audience about TED-Ed. Logan has a Masters in Technology, Innovation, and Education from the Harvard Grad School of Education. He is also known for his award-winning documentary film, Darius Goes West, which focuses on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
