Why Do I Have Pain on the Outside of My Total Knee Replacement |
|
Pain on the outside of a total knee replacement is not uncommon. Especially pain just below the jointline of the knee. It could be pain in the bone associated with new loading patterns or it could be pain in the patellar tendon due to the new alignment of the knee.
Before surgery, it is common for the leg to be curved. After the knee replacement the knee is straighter and with the increase in activity the leg takes time to acclimate to the new alignment and implant.
