First I want to tell you the common mistakes that people make when they are moving around the heavy bag. The first is moving the left foot first when moving to the right. This position will affect your balance and you will not be able to make good punches. It will also put you in an awkward position for a split second which doe not sound like a lot but when boxing it is enough to give the advantage to your opponent. You do no\t want to be in a crossed position while boxing especially in a boxing match. Therefore, when you move to the right make sure that you step with the right foot first and then the left foot follows. When moving to the left move the left foot first then the right follows. This way you maintain the balance and keeps you ina right position for throwing punches,

Another thing is being on your toes. If you are on your toes and moving around it creates for the defending. I see people throwing punches flat-footed, this leaves them to a disadvantage when they have to defend themselves and throw punches. If you throw punches while flat-footed you will be stuck in one position but if you are on your toes you can easily move back and forth, side to side. When you are flat-footed you will not be ready to punch and you can easily be punched. So, stay on your toes at all times.

The last thing is moving around and bringing your feet together. I see people doing this while boxing. By doing this it is easy for you to fall when punches come your way and also you can't punch. Therefore, keep your feet apart at all times to maintain balance and have easy movements. If you are moving to your right, move your right foot first snd if you are moving to the left move your left foot first. With this, no matter where I am, being able to throw punches from anywhere

Correcting these mistakes will allow you to easily move around the heavy bag and be ready to throw a punch at any time and place. When moving around the heavy bag stay on your toes, keep your feet apart and use the correct foot when moving from side to side.
