Photojournalist and writer Joost De Raeymaeker was born in Belgium but chose to live in Lisbon. After taking a degree course as a musician in the Jazz Studio in Antwerp, and you have done a degree in history in UFSIA in Antwerp, Faculty of Arts, University and RUG in Gent, he devoted himself for some years to computer security as managing partner of a company in the business. After you have used for years mainly your left brain (logical), returned gradually to revive your right brain (creativity) through a passion: photography. Initially, he devoted himself to printing in black and white and in time was perfecting photographic technique. In 2004 definitely dedicated to photography, photojournalism area and further development of complete works with text and photography. Exhibited in Portugal, Ireland, Belgium and published in several international titles like Time Magazine, Marie Claire, Metro, Télérama, le Monde 2 (France), TV Sorrisi, Pop's (Italy), Souls, The Express (USA). In 2011 the exhibition was guest author collective "Plaisirs Partagés", the Institut de la Francophonie Lisbon, and had his work exhibited by UNESCO as part of a traveling exhibition on the African presence in Portugal. In 2012 he edited the first tour guide in Portuguese Angola, plunging the country deeper, full of photographs and the narrative of their own journeys. --- In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
