The Tall Volcano in Oregon; Mount McLoughlin |
|
The tall Mount McLoughlin is one of Oregon's more than a dozen volcanoes. Although it has been thoroughly carved by glaciers, this volcano is not extinct and could erupt in the distant future. Its last eruption occurred approximately 25,000 years ago, which produced blocky andesite lava flows that flowed towards the southwest of its summit. This video will discuss this stratovolcano which in some ways looks similar to Mount Fuji.
