Between 900am-1000am on September 11th 2001, the United States was under a multiple attack from alleged Al Qaeda operatives who hijacked four planes and were intentionally crashing them into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon. The ensuing mayhem and confusion would transfer over to even government officials, but one man was undeterred. Vice President Dick Cheney. With Bush on Air Force One, Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld outside the Pentagon after Flight 77 had crashed into it, the military chain of command was indeed broken.

This left Cheney to give the orders of a stand down pr shoot down to NORAD. Conflicting accounts however would soon begin, and the 9/11 Commission would soon find that Cheney's accounts between this important hour would soon contradict what other White House officials say happened. Did Cheney himself, which he is not authorized to do so, insert himself into the Military Chain of Command? Or did he really speak with Bush and Rumsfeld regarding a shoot down order.
