If you have been raised in less than perfect homes, chances are you may have been emotionally abandoned. It is not possible for children to develop a healthy sense of self unless they have had sufficient mirroring from their external environments. What happens in our environments has everything to do with what happens inside of us on a heart and soul level. As adults, we frequently get caught up in the drama of our lives and we do not always take the time to appreciate how our current life experiences are mirroring our childhood experiences. Everything that happens in our adult lives is a direct result of some experience we have had as children. Conscious experiences create emotions. These emotions get downloaded into our subconscious minds and become templates for our future life experiences. It is not your fault if you do not know your self--if your parents never took the time to connect to you in an authentic way. Reprogramming the subconscious mind is possible.
