Building the Comprehensive Income Dataset | LIVE STREAM

video thumbnail
How much money do Americans really make? Who receives what benefits? Various data sources try to estimate Americans’ incomes and program receipt, but no single source offers a comprehensive and accurate picture.

Join us as AEI’s Bruce Meyer discusses his Comprehensive Income Dataset project, which aims to rectify this problem by integrating several surveys, tax return data, and administrative data from government programs. The data set should help improve our understanding of Americans’ financial well-being and improve our understanding of welfare and social insurance programs by providing a more accurate measure of the resources available to all Americans.

After Dr. Meyer introduces his research, a panel of experts on income, welfare, and poverty will discuss the implications of this groundbreaking project.
