Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder of the digestive system and gut that causes the bowel to be very sensitive. The condition causes recurring pain and discomfort in the abdomen and often, the nerves and muscles don't work as they should. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a problem for many people and is often worsened by anxiety and stress. IBS can create terrible abdominal discomforts such as cramping, diarrhea, or constipation that interferes with normal daily activities. Although there is no clear cause, the symptoms are very real. These symptoms can come and go, flare-up or become chronic causing great distress because you never know when they will arrive and ruin a day IBS treatment should always be sought from your doctor. In addition, this hypnotherapy and deep relaxation have been shown to improve the symptoms and discomfort of IBS. Hypnosis has been shown to be an effective treatment for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in a number of clinical studies. Hypnotherapy for IBS involves progressive relaxation, and then suggestions of soothing imagery and sensations focused on the individual's symptoms.
