Memorial Day weekend will be wet, cloudy & cool: Brad Panovich VLOG |

Brad Panovich weather vlog for Wednesday, 5/24/2023: Memorial Day weekend looks to be wet, cloudy and very cool in North Carolina and South Carolina.
In this weather vlog, WCNC Charlotte chief meteorologist Brad Panovich has a simple message for anyone planning something outdoors this weekend: Have a backup plan ready! Whether you're making a trip to the Carolina coast to welcome summer or spending the weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600, there will be rain all over the Carolinas, including the Charlotte metro. A coastal low-pressure system is forecast to move along the Atlantic coast later this week and it means there will be increased rain chances in the Charlotte area. As of now, the peak rain chances are on Saturday into Sunday but there's potential for widespread showers depending how the front moves in. The coast of North Carolina and South Carolina could experience scattered rain, gusty winds and rough surf as early as Thursday and Friday. One thing to keep in mind is the forecast models are not in agreement as of right now. That means confidence isn't very high on exactly what's going to happen this far ahead of the weekend. #cltwx #ncwx #scwx #wcnc #weather #charlotte #northcarolina #southcarolina Weather IQ is powered by the meteorologists and forecasters at WCNC Charlotte in North Carolina.
