FINRA final hearings are the functional equivalent to the investors day in court. This is where the arbitrators and all the parties are going to gather in a conference room or in FINRA offices in the larger cities, and that the parties are going to be able to present testimony from the parties, opening and closing statements. The arbitrators are going to take into consideration all the facts and materials that the party submit to them. However, the rules of evidence do not apply as they would in a court of law and the arbitrators have a great deal of leeway into what they permit or accept into evidence and to allow the parties to present all materials that they believe is relevant to their case. |
