The nation is moving closer toward a third coronavirus vaccine as a special FDA advisory panel appears on the verge of authorizing Johnson & Johnson’s one-shot COVID-19 vaccination for emergency use. The New Brunswick-based pharmaceutical company is expecting to have the green light this weekend. Once it does, Gov. Phil Murphy says the state expects an initial shipment of 70,000 doses.
Friday, officials announced 3,149 new, positive cases and 46 deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 696,000 cases in the state and 23,192 confirmed and probable deaths.
